As mentioned above, the machine was infected 10 months ago. Any pointers? Many thanks MarcusĮdit: Also, the virus was the 'bot not crypted" virus that I've just seen noted on another one of your boards - moderator feel free to move thread if you think this is still a virus problem. I guess I might need to reinstall the driver but am lost from this point. The driver is up to date and I've disables to enables to try for a reset. There is no roll back available under driver. I've gone to device manager/dell wireless 1397 wlan mini-card right click properties/general and have the message in status - this device is not working properly. When I click to connect I get the 'no connections are available' message. Now, I still can't connect to the wireless (I can connect to it by plugging it into the router). ![]() The log is available if you need to see it. I installed malwarebytes and ran a full scan last night - 3 infections have been removed. When I opened it the wireless was working but I believe that in troubleshooting the issue the virus killed the connection. ![]() The laptop apparently became infected by a virus 10 months ago. ![]() Hi Just been given a dell inspiron 1546 running windows 7.
